Oil with annatto

recipe for oil with achiote

Yield: 16 fluid ounces

Ingredients:

1 cup of achiote seeds

1 and 1/2 cups olive oil

 

Procedure:

1. Pour the olive oil into a pan over medium-low heat

2. Add the achiote seeds

3. Let it cook for approximately 10 minutes or until all the red color is extracted from the achiote.

4. Let it rest and strain.

5. Add the annatto oil to an easy-to-use container.

Note: This oil is stored outside the refrigerator, it will not spoil.
